| For just four days this August, Britain's premier
exhibition venue, the NEC in Birmingham plays host to the largest quilt extravaganza ever
staged in the UK, The Festival of Quilts. Quilts
in all shapes and forms. Traditional quilts embued with history, significance and
craftsmanship and offering echoes back to community and whispers of words such as
'nurture', 'homemaking' and 'care'. Radical departures from convention, textile pieces
which retain only the most slender thread with their former incarnation - textile artists
expressing themselves through the medium... |
