The "P" stands for professional and understandably so. 

The Memory Craft 6500P is an industrial quality machine packed with unique features not normally found on a domestic machine. It has an aluminium body with a longer arm that provides 50% more working space than other machines. It has a high powered motor which can sew up to 1000 stitches per minute - 25% faster than most machines.
